With Chorus losing 35m last year could we see another television company go bust. As bad as i think Crapus are we do actually need competition in this country. The problem is will those executives at the indo etc decide to cut their losses and run.
35m doesn't too bad compared with itv digital but remember this is a small country. Those executives have been wanting to offload chorus for sometime now but have not come up with a buyer. Itv digital didn't come up with a buyer and we all saw what happened to them. and with ntl in probs of their own we are lucky to have any cable tv in this country at all.

It's all downhill for CHorus from here in. No investment means no proper digital rollout (which should really result in them having their licence revoked - if the ODTR don't pull something out of their hat, I'll lose all respect for them)

Assuming they don't have their licence revoked, they're still up for sale, if anyone is willing to put in the cash. Potential buyers know the company many be veering towards being on its last legs. NTL in Dublin at least have one close user base. Chorus are spread around the country in a silly way (Limerick and Cork being the only two big urban centres they can rely on for cheaper admin and repair). Their service really is piss-poor though. I've had billing problems with them for months. The service occasionally disappears for little reason. Sky Premier was very dicey tonight (yet again) - it usually happens during their Saturday night premieres (not on any other channel, just Premier) which would lead me to believe there's a bit of a network problem going on (either that or everyone goes home for the weekend). They've a bad reputation.

Funnily enough, there's a sign on the inside of the staff exit pointing out that one dissatisfied customer can lead to ten lost sales (I was in there a few times when I was going out with someone who worked there). Maybe they don't realise it's meant as a warning, not as a guide:D

People who know they're going to be in the same place for the next twelve months (most people) are switching in their droves to Sky. Chorus may have the "for sale" sign up, but the price of the company is surely going down on a monthly basis.

Will chorus end up like itv digital if a buyer is not found e.g. the system shuts down for good?

    Good one:D

I suggested many moons ago that the aliens landed at chorus h.q and took out most of the equipment and the staff brains.
They are advertising their digital service again on the Radio.
They are a load of Plonkers.
The banks must love them though-all that overdraft interest being paid out by the Independent group:rolleyes:
Mind you, I suspect that the Whole operation is just a handy Tax write off at this stage for the independent group and their partners:rolleyes:
