Ringing a british mobile phone

Sorry if this is an obvious question but i was wondering what access code do i need to ring a british mobile phone - the number starts with an 079 prefix i think, like our 087/086/085 one and i know to ring an irish phone you put 353 in front and knock off the 0 (i think!!!). can anyone help - it's just i need to ring my…

can anyone help - it's just i need to ring my friend in england and also if he wants to ring me on my mobile is it just the 353 without the 0 thing?

Sorry if i sound stupid but i have tried searching the net and could only find a website that listed the codes for the indian mobile phone networks. weird
