Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

MAXIM mag to get own TV station

According to FOX News and the New York Post, Maxim magazine is to get it's own television station. Excuse me but I think that deserves an "UNNFFF!" :)
    From: http://foxnews.com/story/0,2933,52827,00.html :

NEW YORK — Maxim magazine is close to a deal that would bring its babes-and-beer formula to TV 24 hours a day.

The red-hot men's mag, published by London-based Dennis Publishing, is reportedly in talks with USA Network parent Universal Television about launching an entire cable channel made up of programs inspired by the contents of the magazine.

Maxim execs have previously discussed developing individual programs for USA Network, but recently the talks have expanded to include the possibility of a full-fledged cable channel spin-off, according to a report in The Hollywood Reporter.

Officials at both companies declined to comment. "Maxim has been contacted and spoken with many people over the past few years," said a spokesman for the magazine. "We cannot comment on the individual conversations that have and are taking place with these parties," he said.

Like the monthly magazine, a proposed Maxim TV channel would be aimed first and foremost at young men.

The magazine specializes in showcasing young actresses in sexy photo spreads, although, unlike Playboy and other magazines, Maxim's photo subjects are almost, but not nude.

The articles typically focus on young men's interests. For example, stories in the May 2002 issue include an article titled "Chickproof Your Pad," a guide to making one's date feel comfortable in one's apartment; "Spot a One-night Wonder," an advice piece on how to tell when a young woman is interested only in sex with no strings attached; and a photo spread featuring Lil' Kim, the scantily clad petite rap star.

Bit of a stupid commercial move given how crap sales of Maxim, FHM and the likes are these days... A fair few of the "lads mags" will go down the pan this year by the looks of things. There's better softcore porn on the Internet and better articles about everything else in specialist mags, so why bother?

http://www.uploaded.com/ - the web site for Loaded magazine (which just isnt the same as it used to be) crashed and burned...

I wouldn't have thought, myself, that it'd be a great time for any of the mags to try something radical like this...

Still-... as with Bravo TV... I, for one, would watch it ;)

Might be worth the odd watch for the aforementioned soft porn, it's bound to be better than "Men & Motors", which is just dire.

We'll considering the attempts of these mags to "educate" its readers *giggles*, I'd say most of the shows will be lame shows about how to brew your own cough sirrup using normal household items....

But if it has more starlets like this I may be converted to its charmes....:D
