I have nothing against Sinn Féin but they had a terrible one for Tom O' Hanlon in Cork South Central. If had a picture of Hanlon on one side with Votail O' Hanlon and a leering Gerry Adams on the other side, sheesh why didn't they just put some paramilitaries on it to boot

Bertie's Big poster on the Side of that Fitzwilliam hotel on Stephen's green.... its HUGE. Menacing...
First time I saw it I was reminded instintly of "George Orwell's 1984"... Those menacing eyes that Winstin so well described... Tis Bertie I tell you....
Except that Bertie hasn't got a tash cause thats SooOo 1984... :)

Clare came close to taking a seat - but her posters ( some were 1997 vintage) must have scared off a lot of people

Aye, he looked fairly dodgy in the posters alright... looked as if he'd feel more at home in reebok classics and a tracksuit than a shirt & tie. That said he did get 2073 votes. But that said there are a lot of idiots around.

I was walking past a Gerry Adams one in Dublin, was close to it and happened to notice there was a cheesy "glow" effect added all around him. Probably not too noticable from afar, but it looked rediculous close up!

Oh, and the one down here in Wicklow for.. feck I've forgotten her name.. oh it's awful, she has a horrible toothy grin and the lines in her face show up something awful.
    /me shudders

[edit]Oh and let's not forget Jimmy O'Shaughnessy - the eyes, the eyes, eeeek....! [/edit]

Aoengus O'Snoadaigh (guessing at spelling) for SF in Dublin - looked like he had a very bad toupee/dead animal on his head :/

there was a poster of some guy running for FF where i live and the poster was tied to the lamp post with the white plastic tie tingys.... but the white plastic ties where going through his mouth and it looked as if he was smoking a joint.....

i taught it looked very funny...

for some reason he wasnt elected.... :D

SF aswell. the "Mary Lou Macdonald" (or whatever her/his name is). The picture makes her look like Leonardo DiCaprio. Awfully done. In fact all the SF ones I've seen so far are awful.

Dublin South? then it's gotta be Eithne Fitzgerald!
i saw another one of hers with one of those plastic ties going straight through her cheshire cat grin, and it looked exactly like she had braces!!

Michael Noonan - airbrused by Industrial Light And Magic to make him look less evil.

I saw a cardboard one with no picture.. just painted "Jackson" on it...

As for Joe Higgins (Socialist) his look awful but i have to admit.. the greens may use recycled materials (i hope...) but his form of recycling is much better... he recycles his posters and uses the same ones in every election! Brilliant strategy and it seems to work... he got elected!

Being a party that does not accept donations, brown envelopes and back handers form business interests we do not have the money for air-brushed glossy posters. So if our posters looked shít to people that's the reason. We put more emphasis on the substance of our representatives and their record in the communities than glossed-up election time image.

Marget Cox's posters in Galway West were quite horrendous....alll gummy smiles...very scary

Mary's motto on her posters was "value for your vote".

Fiona (O'Malley) does look like she is about to be blown out to sea.

    Worst picture is Róisín Shortall(woof)
Worst slogan is Mary Harney's "Value for your vote" (inspired by Tesco's)
