Win XP TCP/IP Stack

Right so I installed the latest version of PGP onto my Windows XP Pro computer only to see that win xp doesnt support PGP. Balls! I then uninstalled it and it took half my TCP/IP stack with it :( So internet & network connections no longer work. I've tried using system restore and "netsh int ip reset" from the command line to get my stack back but alas nothing is working.

Just wanted to pick your brains to see if theres anything else I can try to restore tcp/ip before I do the one thing I know will work - format the hard drive!

    Thanks for the help :)

True true.. what was I thinking?

Anyway as I said nothing worked - still couldnt get System Restore working when I got home this morning (kudos on that one microsoft). So I stuck my Win XP Pro cd back in and tried to repair the installation - no luck.

Turned out I had to completely reinstall XP to get TCP/IP working again. Well a clean install or upgrade anyway. Let this serve as a lesson to any XP users out there, do not install PGP 7 or above under any circumstances. It wouldnt have been such a problem if (like in Windows 9x) I could have just removed TCP/IP and reinstalled it. You just cant do that with XP.

So a completely simple solution after all...

Thanks rymus. I get the impression meself that the simplest solution for all XP problems is a hammer and/or bucket of water. I wonder will SP1 make it any better.
