The [Irish Times] reports that fraud-prevention measures that telecom companies wanted to have included in the Communications Regulation Act did not appear in the legislation passed in the final days of the last Dail. The measures, lobbied for by the Irish Telecommunications Fraud Forum, would have brought legislation into line with laws in Britain. A spokesman for the Department of Public Enterprise said that changing the Bill to include the fraud provisions would have delayed the legislation.
A spokesman for dahamsta replied: "Well, that wouldn't have happened if you hadn't bloody well sat on it for nearly two years, eh dumbass?"
