keane & boards popularity...

hmm i was a bit surprised when checking the maximum users figure today that it hadnt been broken by what seems to be a huge increase in posts about roy keane..

anyway so i was bored in work and got counting...

a quick search for posts in the past week containing the word "keane" resulted in 52 threads with an incredible 1079 posts... and well over 10800 page hits, which isn't bad at all

so there ya go. pointless information at its best.

Yep I think nearly every thread on the 1st Page of the Sports board is about the "Keane" situation now.

So much for wanting a separate Rugby board at this rate we'll need a separate "Roy Keane whinging board"

dunno, gandalf... but if I was you I'd try to cut the wheat from the chaff, - merge a bunch of threads and delete a bunch of threads/posts and thereby chop it down so that there's only one or two Keano threads.

bard is right. theres way too many threads about keano. seems every time something new happens, a new thread is created.

I dunno, if you can tidy it up, fine but if people want to talk about it (and it IS big news in the sporting world and thats a sporting/WC board) then let them take the discussions where they lead...

I'm giving serious credence to a few separate sports boards at the moment, as there is also the argument that there would be flourishing discussions if they werent going to be strangled by the amount of Soccer related posts...
I'll consider that one some more....

what about keeping the sports board and create a soccer board, since there is enough talk about soccer for it to warrent its own board. Most other sports wouldn't be talked about enough to be given their own board so keep them all together.

phreak is damn right. In fact id go one step further and just make the world cup board seperate. Once the WC is over it will be business as normal in sportsboardland

here here - I'd agree with this idea... particularly seeing as short-term boards have been set up for events before (Election board being an example)...

yeah phreak, thats kinda what I'm thinking. Give the other sports a bit of breathing space and then if another one becomes dominant we can hive that off too..

Yeah I was considering merging alot of the Keane posts but I don't think it will be practical. I also think they are allowing people vent their frustration at this ridiculous situation.
