    i'm havin trouble with a printer, no matter what i do it just won't print!

    it's a HP930c, it spools the print job then after a while it just deletes it!?, i'v tried uninstalling n reinstalling the drivers, changed the data cable, even tried tellin it not to spool just send job directly to printer but nothing works! checked page size n usual crap aswell, data pins look fine, the cables new.

    no error message just deletes job after a while...

    any ideas???

    then its a local printer.
    is it shared out?
    is the person who cant print on the local machine or printing from somewhere else on the network?

    Check the configuration of your Paralell port in the BIOS;
    It should be set to ECP, or EEP, (or possibly normal), make sure its not set to SLP

    If You have an award bios:
    Press (del) during the bios screen at the start, and then goto "integrated perihiperals", change the paralell port settings there

    Also to test if the printer is okay, Go into DOS (use a bootdisk r whatever), put some text up on the screen (dir/w ?) and press the key that says "Print Screen".
