i am moving back to my home for the summer. I have a problem though. The signal is crap at home and i can only get one bar and thats beside the window. I live in a vallley and the mobile signal just bounces around the moutain to my north beacuse the transmitter is on the next hill north of me.
    I have a few questions

    1. Can i improve my signal with any equipment?
    2. I want to forward my mobile calls to the house. But if my friends ring me on my mobile are they charged for calling my mobile or my house?
    3. Can i collect text messages via the net?

    Thanks for the help.

An antenna may help, you could contact this provider who offer a number of solutions:

Have you tried to see if an alternative operator gives a better signal in your location?

An factor is the model of mobile phone, some have better antennas than others.

Best guide is to see if any visitors to your house get a better reception than you do, and note their operator and phone model.

They will be charged for calling a mobile. You will also be charged for each diverted call, any call not diverted to your voicemail is charged for.

Vodafone (Bill Monthly and ReadyToGo) has a 15c charge per call diverted.

O2 (Bill Monthly not sure about SpeakEasy) varies depending on tariff and works like this: when your friend calls your mobile and it diverts, it's as if your mobile then calls your landline. You are charged the same as if you called your landline on your mobile for the duration of the call.

Give your operator a buzz to outline the costs for diverting calls to your land line, or check the Tariffs area on their websites.

This isn't offered by the operators, just sending.
