Its a real mellow kind of dance song with some girl voice singin something along the lines of ; "holdin you , kissin you ...." repeated over and over again.

pfft, Im a legend even if I get this wrong ;) Getting it right will only add to my tower of legendness.

If its Barcode, its probably fairly recent music channel regular playlist stuff. Id hazard a guess it might be

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnY1vDn2Y30&feature=related Or something else by Angel City, I def have the lyric in my head, I could have sworn it was the song I linked and it doesnt appear to say the lines you quoted, maybe a different version with the same beat?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3eGojDkFLE&feature=related Could be this maybe? Lyrics seem a bit more what your on about, and its fairly mellow.

Try the other AC stuff there, might be one of them

And even if it isnt there are worse ways to waste your time than watching the beautiful Lara McAllen in a few vids :) (could have sworn she was Scottish, looked it up and shes English. Still would mind :D Either posh acccent or filthy scouse and Im sold, its just that if it was looks like that combined with being Scottish i.e. completely nuts and hilariously cute accent/slang and way of articulating themselves, Id marry her in an instant :p )

No Wertz, aint the one Im looking for. Come on lads :D Why am I the only who heres these tunes? Again, late 90s light trancey eurodance stuff with the female lyrics "set you free, diamonds from heaven fallin down on me" and Destination Unkown with a reggae/dancehall vibe to it and a Carribean female vocalist. ANYONE?!!? :(

    NiSmO,
I was unable to download the AMR file you uploaded, but I believe the song you are looking for is "Destination Calabria" by Alex Gaudino feat. Crystal Waters. What you thought was "dance the nation unknown" is actually "destination unknown", which is pretty much the chorus of the song. Here is a link to a video of the song, and a link to a website that gives you some background on the song and how it came to be.

    Video:

    About the track:

I hope this soothes that "itch". I know it sucks when you can't find the name of a song you know. It is tougher when you don't have the right words. I myself, upon first hearing the track, thought she was saying
    "Dance the nation unknown" ;)

If this was indeed the track you were looking for, please post to let me know. :)

    Got a few questions...

Name that tune for me is this

"Keep on moving, Keep on moving, keep on moving around, oh, oh oh,"
It is a female singer thats all I know,

Also if you can name the artist and song title,
Where can I buy it at? (perferably MP3)

I am from the US and am having so much of a hard time finding
good places that sells the music I am looking for either mp3 or CD
(Example would be StoneOcean's "My Heroine" Love that song)

    Thanks for the help

    David.:D

    David,

 It would be helpful if you told us what genre it is (rock, pop, hip-hop, electronic, etc.) and what time era the song is from (60's, 70's, 80's 90's 2000+) That would help to narrow it down a little. Unfortunately, there are TONS of songs that have "Keep on moving" or "Keep on movin' " in the lyrics. I tried to find the song based on what you gave me, and was unsuccessful. How about a little bit more info? :)

    OK....
I feel really stupid. FIRST of all, I quoted and answered the wrong guy's quote - it was TRIXX, not NiSmO who asked about "Dance the Nation" .... :P
THEN - I put the icing on the cake by asking David to narrow it down to a genre when this forum is a sub-category of Dance & Electronic & DJing...

    ................

***michaelshea3 sticks his head in a hole***

Anyway, I hope I helped YOU out, Trixx. :P

    :D:D:D

No you was right to ask the Genre.
It is Alt Rock, I hear it alot on Phantom 105.2 alot.
Granted this is the Dance & Electronic & DJing Forum
Having said that it is not Dance and not Electronica...
Although I would hope a true DJ would know the song!

I was reading this thread and noticed someone said use Itunes,
was surpirsed to see StoneOcean there.. but didn't see my fav song of theirs (My Heroine), so perhaps someone knows where I can get my hands on it. I do belive I had downloaded it off their site, but it seems to be off line now :(

Also the line I qouted trying to find the song is part of the Chorus or the pre chorus.

Next time they play it I will pay closer attention to the lyrics and perhaps they will say the name.

That depends on your definition of DJ...around these parts it refers specifically to someone who mixes dance music. Alt rock is a little tough to throw into a set and might get you some bad crowd feedback; not what a true DJ is really after.

There is a dedicated Phantom FM forum:
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=64
where you could ask if you're desparate or there's the "What's that song?" thread in the general music forum that might throw up more answers.
Generally if it's sub 120bpm, chances are slim that any of us here will know it...

Is it "Moving" by Cathy Davey? You said they play it alot on Phantom 105.2, so I looked it up in IE, went to their website, and checked the current playlist (the link is found as a sub-category of "Music", one of the links at the top of the page)

I then plugged her name and the song name into Google and came up with this video. It is a live performance. Is this the song you were looking for?

    Hi all,

I'm looking for a tune that used to be on 2FM dance shows in the 90's.

All I remember is that there is a sample of a fax machine in it, and I think
the word fax is in the title.

    Thanks

    Barney

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,528 ✭✭✭copeyhagen

That music is called O Fortuna

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O_fortuna

Here are some possible matches from the bottom of the wikipedia page:

"Electronica band Apotheosis, released a few versions of a track featuring "O Fortuna" in 1989 of which the Orff estate sued to stop the distribution."

"Scandinavian electonic band Apoptygma Berserk used a sample of the piece as the chorus of their song "Love Never Dies (Part 1)" from the album "Seven"."

Could be "Headhunters - the son of the devil", think it was on stormtrax (cheesy bootleg hard house label that I loved in my youth:p)

I was in Opium in Barcelona on Wednesday night, mostly heavy electrohouse playing, one tune came on with a female vocal saying "Don't push, just pull", had a bit of a Mark Knight ring to it, a bit like Party Animal in style. Anybody any ideas?
