Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I use Opera occasionally (6.01) and if I go to Boards it takes a whopping 29 seconds to load any page! On IE5 it only takes about 2 or 3 seconds.

Does this happen to anyone else?

(Oh yeah, and if we use Opera unregistered, this is what we can get on our browser :D --

Something wrong with your cache settings, it's probably loading all the images over again.

I cant figure out how to check the cache settings! But the double Eircom ad is because they seem to be advertising inside the Opera browser too so it is possible to get two Eircom ads at the same time, double whammy

    Gordon,
Just press alt+p for preferences and then go to history and cache. Then delete the cache there.

Thats freaky though. A double whammy of the eircom mouse.
    You poor lad:)

OK, thanks I am blind too!
    ...but...

It still takes 29 seconds to load every page. I have tried every single combination of cache setting etc - turning everything off, turning everything on etc. Everything I try gives me a 29 second page load.

It's no big deal to me as I have IE5, just wondering if anyone else has this problem thats all.

Nope no problem with page loads here.
Was using 5.2 up until Saturday. I am now using 6.01 after a complete reinstall of W2K and everything is fine.

I see no difference in download time with it and IE.

    Gandalf.

It used to, for two reasons :

    1) boards was hammered
    2) I didnt have image caching enabled - I had it "always" checking images (and "other").

    Now, its fine.

Oh - upgrade to 6.03. There's a security hole in 6.01. If you care about such things, of course.

<edit> Of course - if you run under Linux, 6.01 is the most up to date version, and doesnt have the security hole. Silly me for automatically thinking winblows </edit>

Thanks Bonkey, it wasn't the fact that boards was hammered but I upgraded to Opera 6.03 and it works tickety boo.

Mr. Applepie, I suggest you do the same ;)
