I can't sendmail or upload with FTP on my eircom subs account. Have a m8 with the same problem. Does anyone know what's going on? :(

Apparently there was/is a problem sending mail in certain parts of Dublin. It's been working fine for me all weekend. There's a thread about it over on ie.comp.

yes, in work I can send/receive with my @dublin.ie email (over leased line). But as soon as I go home and with the same settings, dial up with isdn and cannot send or receive with outlook express?

Is your work account a POP or SMTP mail account? It's probably SMTP, so it ain't going to work outside of your LAN.

    why not?

Pop account holders use smtp to send mail too you know.

I know. What I was saying was, if his work mail is SMTP mail, when he dials up at home he won't be getting the IP address that the mail is (probably) being directed too. Hence it's only working on the LAN.

Well I suppose there's nowt to be done til they fix it.

    As a temporary solution 066 7145201 can be used (2171101 & the 417.... no's don't work) for sending mails/ftp.
