Sorry if this has been covered already,
I haven't been here in a while, and only had time to look through the last few days of posts.
I seem to remember Eircom's justification of the price of I-stream included something about how it wasnt targetted at home users?

Why, then, are they running ads on KaZaA, advertising it as being perfect for high speed gaming?
    (they even have the mouse!)

I don't have time to hang around and wait for it to come up, but i'm sure anyone that uses KaZaA will have noticed them at some point. (Right now i have an ad for some online casino)

Anyway, just thoguht i'd pop that in, please tell me i'm not going mad, that these ads do exist?

    -Igy!

info, when people send you data while playing a game, its known as downloading data from other people, therfore killing your download cap.

    a server with 20people = ouchies
jk2 uses a hell of a lot of bandwidth while playing on a server too, as do some other games

It will remove the bundeled software but not the ads. Look at the "supertrick" section of the Kazaa Lite website to see how to remove the ads.

The ads on KaZaA are done through a 3rd party advertising company.

The ads were negver that annyoing until recently, when they started using flash animations which play sounds over whatever music you're listening to. They can be muted, but they still annoy me :P

What I cant get over is how they call a download cap "A Flat Monthly Fee" .... ridiculous. Didnt someone recently say that the advertising authority was making them change that? It's still being said in those stupid little flash ads ...

Oh well... next they'll be advertising "Broadband technology" as 2 tin cans and a piece of string! ;)
