Geography was easy enough this year.. glaciation came up on question 2 (as expected) and Italy on it's own in question 5! what more could you ask for!
The map question looked difficult at first glance but on closer inspection of the map it became easier..
The photgraph question was also simple except for the question on traffic flow part (ii)
all in all it was an easy enough paper

The traffic flow part came up in the ordinary level too, I thought that was a poorly constucted question, All Is aid was that the town was too compact together and there was no traffic lights.. hehe

I wrote about the fact that the harbour was more developed than the roads, so all available resources went into developing the port facilities.. also the lack of national primary/secondary roads which could have been used to expand the port's use..

the only thing that could have made my predictions for the paper any worse would have been if the field study hadn't come up and they just can't do that so they probably tried and failed.

Where were you France and coasts?

Luckily though I could answer Q4a from business & a vague knowledge of core and periphery regions and I combined what I saw on a Blue Peter which had a special on acid rain and the greenhouse effect awhile ago and what I did for my junior cert so I could answer that physical question :D

    Where was Norway?
    Switzerland?
    Sweden?
    France?
    Coasts?
    Rivers?

It was like they contacted my teacher, asked him what we did and then decided to put the exact opposite on the paper.

Ah well, c'est la vie! (French tomorow :D )

    I can't believe my luck,
in English I rest all my hopes on Shakespeare
and now an easy plate tectonics question and Italy into regions for the full 100 marks

LOL... on question 5 I totally forgot the regions of Spain and Italy. I could only think of the Meseta and The Mediterranian Coastline for Spain and Alpine region, North Italian plain and the Mezzagiorno for Italy. I thought of the Plain of Lumbardy in the exam room but I didn't know if it was in Italy or Belgium!! In the end I done the hardest one on Question 5 which was the Core and Periphery! Hopefully I haven't got an Eastern European person correcting 5 (ii)! I think I would have offended em if they ever read it!

Oh yeah, by the way... anyone know what the bloody tracing paper was for? Or am I the only one that got it in the whole country? As far as I know your not allowed to trace in Geography...

As geography exams go it wasn't bad, I did the mapwork, Glaciation, Dividing Italy into regions, and the fieldwork. I wrote a good 3 and a half pages for italy and fieldwork, not sure how good it was though, started to rush in the glaciation a bit and had to keep it short, 2 and a half pages including diagrams, and then I made a bit of a balls of the mapwork :-/, A and B were hard I thought, but I wrote a good half page of **** and filled it with grid references for each of the parts, time was running out because I left mapwork till last.

It's hard to know how well you did in geography, but I couldn't have asked for more from the paper, I learned France and Italy, Italy came up, I learned Glaciation, the sea and rivers, glaciation came up, and I learned only fieldwork out of that section :).

I'd have preferred France in the dividing a country into regions, and something about drainage on mapwork but you can't have everything :).

    Mills,
I know what you're talking about you're not given nearly enough time to answer all 4. It took me an hour to do question 1, and by the time I got to question 5 it was 4.20pm ! I had to rush the regional question and I probably didn't answer it aswell as I could have given more time.

Hmmm... seems so. I asked the supervisor and she hadn't got a clue either. All of the people in the room I was in had the paper and I dunno if any of them used it.
