Mario Kart Type Games

I love the mario kart type games. The ones were your driving a little car round the place and you get to shoot everyone. I'm easily amused! Anyway apart from mario kart and its different versions on the various platforms and Crash team racing are there any others like it?

If there is could someone please tell me. I'm getting tired of the same race courses again and again. Thanks

There's an excellent MarioKart clone on the PSX that I got far more enjoyment out of than any of the MarioKart games themselves - 'Speed Freaks'.

Street Racers was the much hyped MK clone on the Mega Drive. Its pretty good but doesn't have the charm to carry it off.

Although isometric Rock and Roll Racing and Micromachines have comparable gameplay.

i remember one called Power Drift on c64
that was class ,wonder what the arcade version played tru mame be like.

i think only final burn can play power drift. it was one of those sprite scaley type sega games from the late 80's like space harrier, after burner and thunderblade.

i bloody owned at that game.

its basically a complete rip of mario kart, but its actually great fun, and i can remember having months of multi-player fun with the shareware version when it first came out..

imo mario kart has never been beaten for multiplayer racing thrills (maybe one of the earlier micro machines games)
