    Attention Galway or surrounding area:

ok so here it goes...me vocals and bit of rhythm, kharn wants to do guitars....
so whats needed is bass, drums, guitars and what ever other strange instruments ya can find

what you would be playing: i hate "labeling" what it is but *gun to my head" experimental grunge/rock - what that means is i wanna try for a more dynamic acoustic karma...but not all acoustic...i want f**kin heavin guitars (kerbdog/rival schools) and bring a more emotive vocaling.....drumming would have to be class of course....and bass (go gezzer)

its not a cover band, me all out orginal...but we have to find our feet first (of course)

anyone wanna contribute, give me a shout on here or call me (fergal) 087 7668592 after 6

i reckon if we can get something together we could try for the forge rehearsal studios for practice space or anyone with a free house....
anyone with a PA would be cool...

Once I get a new bass, I'll be free to play for you, if you'd like.
Probably have it by the end of July.

Yeah, I'm in for guitars and vocals, but I'm not an amazing guitar player, so don't expect any mad mental solos :)

It'll take 6 months to order in the bass I want, so I'm planning on getting some cheap peice of crap in the meantime.

Ken, I have to ask you this because it confused me when you told me first, but why on earth would it take 6 months to order a guitar? Tell that shop that they suck ass and go to a proper shop that will have an order in within 4 weeks and then you're set.

Because it's a very certain one I want, and I think they have to get it in from the states, or somewhere.
But there's a shop in Carlow that might have what I'm looking for.
So, if so, I might have it within the next week or two! :)

Ahhh, that makes sense. Well good luck with it - I'll be over to play it when it arrives ;)

Yeah Kharn, I asked them yesterday what took it so long, and they told me that they get it off a company in england, who gets it from a company in the US, and that it had to come through European services, then Uk, then Ireland. Can take 4-6 months.

Although, the shop in Carlow can have it for me within a week! :D

And yes, Pornapster, a Warlock - 5 string NJ series, widow headstock. :)

Niiice! So it should end up looking like this...
    nj_warlock_bass.jpg
Except with 5 strings and is most likely to be black! :D

    My brother is a drummer :), but he's only 15 :(

I can see the headlines now...

"Galway's latest experimental grunge/rock sensation, refused entry to, what is knows as one of Galways biggest and best metal nights, all because there drummer forgot his fake ID"

and Dav, stop knocking yourself, I've heard you messing around on da oul Guitar, and you're far from crap.

Good luck with the band lads ;)

    ;-phobos-)

Right, time to make a push and get this thing going, so, who's on for meeting up next week?
I say Wednesday, 9pm, Sally Longs
(Tueday I'm in Dublin, Thursday I'm in Mayo and Friday is Galway LAN).

    Everyone who's interested, be there.

Look for a fat man with a pony-tail, glasses and eyebrow bar and it might be me :)

See you then (I'm most likely offline for the next week - holidays).

    I'll be there.

Right, are we going to get together this week? Ferg, you're sorting out The Forge, yeah?

A list of songs is in order. The ones I remember from our possible "silly" list were My Way, I Will Survive and a late addition from Fergal of My Lovely Horse (The Metal Remix).

Those three are handy enough to play (on a guitar anyway). There's room too for a bit of messing with them, so anyone with any talent (i.e. not me) can throw their own little spin into it.

So, get learning and Ferg, post up here if you sort out the Forge.
