I know some people who applied the CCC last year to repeat and they weren't accepted. The funny thing is that they got accepted in Bruce and Hewitt. I don't think they mind who gets in (i know one person who got 185) as long as you have the right attitude. Just go in there, look respectable and seem like you really want to get better grades and you will get in.

Oh they have been known to kick people out who do nothing thete

Do you really want to repeat your leaving then? I'm not getting at you, but if you don't do work this year, what'll make you do it next year? Even if you have worked, maybe the leaving just doesn't suit you - like many other people. Have a think about it, there's plenty of other things you can go and do. Do you really need to get a good leaving, or will you just be wasting a year?

    :)

umm.. ya i gotta repeat... need 400 pts! spose thats sounds impossible after failing the fuker this year but.. everybody asks me that "what will make you do it next year?" well i have my reasons... i couldn't be arced explaining.. ( nothing against you) its just everybody asks...

but if i went to CCC interview i spose it wouldnt be wise to tell them i want 400.. they'd never believe i'd get it... i'll say like 250.. but i really need 400... i'd get it tho.. no strain :)

Seamus does have a point, CCC isn't going to make you study and there will be nobody on your back nagging you to do something. The teachers there couldn't give a toss as to what you do but will have no hesitation to boot you if you do nothing for the year.

Don't get me wrong though. I am repeating this year because last year i was too arrogant to study. I got a decent offer last year of Elec Eng in UCC but because i didn't do myself justice i went back to repeat. Now that i have actually done a ton of work and have gotten some decent exams under my belt so far (i hope) i can take my pick of courses. It was hard but i am starting to feel the rewards of hard work, hopefully i can continue the trend in college :)

If you want 400 points you are going to have to be 100% commited. I'd even suggest you start working over the Summer

I repeated in the CCC, and theres some brilliant teachers in there, but theres some dire ones too who can **** you up if you follow their methods. I did less work when repeating than the first time which I didn't do much for either.

I skipped so many classes in the CCC, spent a lot of my time in the gym when I was meant to be attending class. I met so many decent people there though. I'm still best friends with loads of the people in there, it was great for socialising.

I suppose I actually repeated cos I really didn't know what the hell I wanted. I got offered Elec in UCC the 2nd time around (when the points were actually high, what the hell happened recently ! ) and took it. Did I hate that course. I switched to Comp Sci and disliked that course too.

If I was to do something again I'd probably go for Psychology or Physiology, something that interests me.

If your committed you can do well anywhere. Showing that you are commited to the college of comm people will get you in. Tell them your aiming high and you want to prove to yourself that you can attain high points. Say you're looking forward to the challenge and are even excited about it.
