    At home:

    Primary Games Machine:

Athlon XP1700, 512MB DDR Ram, 20 + 40 GB WD Caviar 7200 rpm drives, Geforce 4 Ti 4600, SB Live Platinum, 3com N/W card, blah, blah, Pioneer 16x DVD
    (XP, 98SE and RedHat)

My brothers machine is always available also for a LAN game - of which there are many in my house as all my PC's are networkable. My brothers machine is a replica of the above - except it uses the ECS boards built in sound and has a CDRW instead of the DVD.

    Others:

AMD Duron 800, 128MB RAM(PC100), 4.3GB HardDrive, Geforce 2 Ti, 52X LG CDROM, Modem, Network Card etc..... Onboard Sound (ECS K7VZA board)
    (Windows 98SE)

Celeron 500, 192MB SDRAM, Voodoo 3 PCI, Built in AMR Modem, 4GB, 6GB Hard Drives, Teac 8x CD Burner, nw card, modem etc...
    (Windows 98SE)

Intel Pentium3 800, 192MB SDRAM, Voodoo 3 AGP, SBLive, 10gb hd, 52X Samsung CDROM, NW CARD/ MODEM etc......
    (Windows 2000 Pro)

AMD K6-2 400, 128MB SDRAM, TNT2 Riva Ultra, ESS ISA soundcard, 4.3GB Conner HD, Again, NW card and Modem. 24x Philips CDROM & 16x Traxdata CD Burner.
    (Windows 98 SE)

Then a selection of Pentium Machines, 1 Pentium 100, 2 Pentium 75's (DELL), One Pentium 166mmx. (the 166 has 32MB SDRAM, the rest 16-32MB EDO ram, and all have 1GB HD's & network cards)
    (All Windows 95 OSR2)

At the bottom end of the scale 1 486dx66, 2 486 DX33's, All with 4 or 8MB ram and 540MB HD's plus one 386 machine with 4MB RAM (20mhz Processor), 200MB HD, (as well as an Amstrad 386SX laptop which looks like an old wordprocessor and weighs about 2 stone, - 1mb ram and 16mhx speed. Its hooked up to my Rowperfect Rowing machine and works great with it)
    (All Windows 3.11)

    Finally a mighty Olivetti 286 12mhz, 1MB RAM, and a gigantic 20MB hardrive (Which cost 5k back in 85)
(Dos 6.2 and I kid you not Windows 1.0)

Almost all of them are networked or networkable, I have a 5 port mini-hub and one 8 port hub, A Visioneer Scanner, Espon 660 and 440 Printers - plus an old Star Dot Matrix, cam's, palmtops, Steering Wheels, Gamepads, Joysticks etc.......

    In work:

Machine I use mainly is a Dell P3 733, 128MB RAM, 17" Monitor, 4GB HD, Built in ATI Rage graphics and onboard sound. But thats incidental, I use it for development. These days I have been doing a lot of SQL/DB2 DBA work in addition to development, so essentially I have about 10 servers under my care, mostly these are DELL Poweredge machines, All Pentium 3's Dual or Quad processor boards, 2-4GB RAM and mostly about 136GB Harddrives (Setup in RAID 5 Conifgurations).

    (All NT4)

So lots of hardware for me to play with then !!!!

    Like a pig in s**t.:D

Abits onboard RAID isn`t the greatest, nice system tho. Would have been better if you went with SCSI maybe.

    Nice system, prices?

The whole lot excluding monitor is 3k
Had to get rounded ide cables and fans etc as well which i didn't bother listing

Bleh, abit use the highpoint 370 controller, which is also used by iwill, epox etc. It is much more reliable than the highpoint 366, and it will not be used in a raid configuration, it is there just to boost the number of ide channels.

    What Gerry said. :)

It has issues regarding CD drives, i have a th7 RAID and for some reason buring or copying cd`s never turns out right. Also has the highpoint 370. Burns grand from IDE0 to IDE3 (Burner)

    Maybe its just my config.

I have the Abit Kt7A-RAID, and in the manual it specifically says not to use ATAPI (ie, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, etc) drives with the HPT370.

Perhaps it's having problems because you're doing something with it you're not supposed to?

Apparently my PSU has problems acting as an off-board motor.
