    I've 2 problems
    1. I keep getting disconnected and it hangs both lines
    2. I don't think i'm getting the speeds i should be getting in games

    Hardware:
    XP1900 @ XP2100 (143*12)
    SY-K7V DRAGON Plus!
    1024MB Xerox DDR
    Elsa Microlink ISDN USB Connect
    Generic ISDN modem
    Windows XP
    UTV internet

    1st.
I can be using it for hours on end and its grand. No bother at all. But then out of nowhere the modem stops sending packets and then it just stops. You try to reconnect but the port is still open.
When you pick up either line you get a little bit of white noise then you get a dial tone for a sec then a beep then a dial tone then a beep and it continues. If i restart the PC and wait for 10mins sometimes it comes back and can be grand from then on or can do it again.

    2nd
When I ping irish games servers such as IGN i get a ping of about 110 but when i ping UK servers like BlueYonder i get a ping of 90 and I don't think that is right.
    I download at 7k/sec (+/- .5k) which is quiet normal i think.
I'm only downloading at 3K'ish in TFC/CS is it possible to get anyhigher on ISDN.

    FYI
    • I've reinstalled both devices
    • i've tried every isp i can: IOL Gold, IOL free, UTV, Eircom, Ocean.
    • I've formatted and started again
    • I've gotten Eircom out to check the line

    So any suggestions?
    Anything i ommitted?

get an internal card, your TA is restricted to the speed of your com ports. External TA's are a thing of the past with todays cpu's and pci bus :)

    The generic is internal.

    It's also generic.

Buy/borrow an asuscom or eicon internal card and test it.

yer id blame the TA in this case - try one of them - both are fantastic ta's

    I think i've fixed it.
I told it to use hardware compression and use protcols to enable it to use line 1 and it seems ok now.

    What about the ping though?

Have a look at my post on Nets/Comms. You'll see that if I wasn't fortunate enough to have an Indigo subscriber a/c I may not ping under 100 either. UTV might route you through the UK and then to Ireland? Would explain the difference.

    /me shrugs

I used these commands for HL from Koopa
    rate 6000
    cl_rate 6000
    cl_cmdrate 80
    cl_updaterate 51
    fps_max 100
    fps_modem 100

And it droped my ping to 70 on english servers.
    Cheers Koopa.
