Any chance of getting this in? Far easier than clicking on "reply" when you want to reply without using a quote. (the carrot: plus it'll use less bandwidth at the server end)

There seems to be a fear of spam if it was introducted, although I'm not sure of the grounding of such!

As for convenience & speed, it's seems ideal for us narowbanders in Ireland

We do have flood control activated don't we? Wouldn't that just kill off the bad mean spammers anyway?

I like Adam's proposal about the smilies in that other thread btw - makes sense as well (or at least would save remembering the characters fot the smilie for dimwits (erm, like me)
