Got an email from Leap, apparently they have officially launched their broadband wireless services. Looks good and it seems cheaper then €ircon's (gasp shock!!).
Its a symmetric service as well.

According to todays sunday Tribune they are about to offer Always-on flat rate broadband to consumers for just €28 a month!! What do you make of that?

The €28 per month service is being promised by BEAM Solutions not LEAP, but who cares what they're called it looks hopefull, I see they're using the 802.11b standard which looks like it could yet pull the rug from under Eircoms DSL okay its flat rate rather than high-speed but as far as I can see ppl put cost ahead of speed.

Beam are a 2-way satellite provider, they arent using 802.11b. As such, latency will be massive, and either the connection will be sky-high, or there will be very restrictive caps on it. Ho hum.
