    Hey,

I realised after posting on the music board that this is probably a much better place for it.

    Anyways...

I'm looking to get a sony mz 501 or even a e500 in some of the different colours. Anyone got any suggestions where?

I've tried, dixons, richersounds, peats and argos. None of them have it, or any players really. The sony centre in town has the e500 but the e501 play seems to be better.

Is there any more specialised Hi-fi/electronics shops around dublin?

    Thanks,

    - Kevin

The only one I can think of that directly relates to Minidiscs would be HiFi corner beside Virgin's main store. They've a pretty good selection.

    For general hifi I'd include.

Lyric HiFi, I think owned by the same folks that run Richersounds here, but they don't do portables, decent place for some mid-high end though.

For more the esoteric kind CloneyAudio in blackrock are a good bet.

On a similar note where can one purchace the Xitel digital USB>MD interface thingys in Ireland? Preferably a walk in shop and not online.
And has any one any experience of these devices?

If it's recording why do you need to check the volume?

yeah i have one of those things.. i got the MGZ700PC I asked about buying the seperate in the sony shop but they said they cost over 100 quid, i dont know if thats true or what. i asked in few other places and they could not get them. I wanted to get the 750 cause of the radio but i really needed they PC kit. Its cool enuff, you plug it in and it takes over from your normal output, you play your mp3's or whatever and it inputs it to the minidisc. you can listen with the headphones on the minidisc to check the volume etc.
