Eric Adams is untouchable. His performance on Nessum Dorma would give Pavarotti a run for his money.

No doubt about that....the man's voice can soar and then descend in a split second....

And W. Axl Rose as one of the greatest vocalists of all time?

Bugger off the man had a medicore voice at best....

But Freddie definitely has my respect....

Brandon Boyd - Incubus as clean vocalist
Max Cavelera as dirty :p vocalist

Freddie Mercury is possibly the greatest male voice I've ever heard with James Dean Bradfield from the Manic Street Preachers a close second.

As much of a fan as I am of Soulfly and Sepultura, Max Cavalera is not a good singer. You can hear it in the latest album that non-stop roaring is taking it's toll and he's not able to do it as much as before.

Mike Patton or Layne Staley maybe JB Too!

Are you insane? Axl Rose's voice is brilliant. No way mediocre, and I agree I only realised recently how powerful Freddie Mercury's voice is... very good

    Overall: Jeff Buckley
    Rock: Freddie Mercury, Ian Astbury
    Falsetto: Hansard
of the "grunge" musicians has to be Staley and Cornell

those are my personal favorites anyway.

Oh, I had forgotten Nick Cave...
He is indeed a great singer.

But moreso, rather than technical ability, he's quite unique and distinctive.

I wouldn't put Anders in my favorites, to be honest.
Mikael Stanne was a far better vocalist.

Is this just judging vocalists on their voices or can we include features like generally being good Frontmen/Showmen, and being stage entertainers aswell as showing singing ability?

Because I think David Lee Roth should get a place in here. I never liked his singing an awful lot, but the stuff he can do onstage. He's like a Kung Fu Artist or something. And he's funny in a Jar Jar Binks sort of way ;).

You mean he make you want to kill him?

I don't know, to me, the term vocalist wouldn't constitute for showmanship.
But if you want to take it like that...

I'd say Till Lindermann or Aaron Stainthorpe.
    Fantastic frontmen.

Actually, when I saw hime in the "Jump" video, I definately wanted to kill him.

Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! Make the spandex go away!

Philip Anselmo is a great frontman, AngelWhore will think otherwise as usual, him being anti-Pantera and all that.

I'm not anti-Pantera. I quite like them, really...
It's just that I think they're one of the most over-rated bands in existance. And that Phil is a knob who should stop belching out so many ****e side projects.
