Hi, I am living in Co.Galway and I wonder if anyone knows if I will ever be able to get ADSL in my area? I am 15 miles from the main Galway exchange but the Tuam exchange is nearer (9 Miles). Many Thanks Jason Shaughnessy

As far as I'm aware, you need to be within 3km of the exchange to have any hope of getting ADSL.

Try posting to the net/comms or Ireland Offline Forum, you might get more info, but I doubt if you'll get any better news, I'm afraid.

Telephone exchanges are often closer to you than that. They are in most villages. (Hint: if there is a post office closer than that, bets are that there will be a exchange in the same area.) But as you are outside of a major urban conurbation, you'll have no luck yet.
