Cropping MP3 files

Hi! I require a program that can crop a large mp3 file (eg a 1 hour recording) upon recieving a start and end points (eg keep all music between 26mins7seconds and 28mins33seconds etc and discard the rest.)

I know even a basic program like goldwave can do this for WAV files but is there such a program for dealing directly with mp3's? Has anyone come across something that would fit the bill?

    Thanks!

    Hi Pigman,

I use MP3 Scissors. I've used it to split 50mb MP3 files into individual tracks, and I've used it to split away 'hidden' tracks from the end of an albums last track (where there is a stupid 5 to 10 min chunk of silence between last track and hidden track).

Should help you with what you're trying to do....

Thanks Tmb. That did just the trick! BTW is there any way to input 'minutes:seconds' instead of frame numbers?

Don't think so, Pigman.... And as such, its pretty painful to split a whole album with it - its handy for quick snips :)

You could have a dig around http://www.hitsquad.com for an alternative if you want (lots of MP3 software there)

Wow... that looks much more user friendly than MP3 Scissors.
    Thanks for the link, Tom.

(Now to go trimming Coldplay's new album) :D:D
