    I am an American and am a registered independant.

    You don't have to be one of the more than 2 main parties. So maybe you should add more options to your poll.

    Let the US bashing begin. :)

    Would it be an idea to add options for Ralph Nader and the Reform Party, as well as 'independent'? I'm curious as to how much support these two actually have.

    I would refuse to vote in an American election because none of the major parties represent my political ideaology.

    I've voted Libretarian since college- futile perhaps, but considerably less futile than abstention from the political process. Refusing to vote is possibly the worst thing a citizen (one who gives two sh1ts about his/her country at any rate) could do imho. If faced with two parties with disintegrating reputations, vote for a party that represents your views the next most closely :)
