Ticket Touts?

    What is the story with them?

    Is it illegal? Why?

    Is it legal to sell them a ticket?

    Is it legal to buy a ticket from them?

    I'm not sure about them being legal or not, but before the Muse gig at Dublin Castle they were very weary of the police so make of it what you want. My mate needed a ticket for that gig and the tout eventually lowered himself to E50. So we reluctantly agreed and handed over the cash. But the dim tout (who had a strip of about 5 tickets) ripped off the ticket with a stub on both sides, so my friend sold the extra stub to a nice English gentleman for E10, who was a Muse fanatic, and we watched in hysterics as the tout searched in vain for who he had given the stub to... how unfortunate for the poor man.

    Its not really ilegal to tout tickets, It's more of a moral issue. You would'nt get arrest for buying them or even get the tickets taken off you.

    if they're wary of the police then chances are that for every legit ticket they have they also have a forgery.

    they really only appear out of the woodwork at big concerts anyway, but if you are buying one always check it against a mates genuine ticket before walking away from the tout (or even before handing him money).
