Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sky finally has a non-english european language channel.
    Sky finally has ESPN.

But its "ESPN Classic Sport Italia" (@ 12344 H).

What the f**k? An american sports channel dubbed in Italian?
If Sky already had one or two Italian channels on I'd accept it but whats going on here???

Come on Sky why not give us ESPN in English and an Italian channel like RAI Uno.
While you at it what about RTPi (Portuguese), TVE (spanish), RTL (German) .............

Its probably not Sky who have the channel on - as its not in their EPG... more likely ESPN renting the space off ASTRA, just like ITV.

Gentlemen, I've entered in the frequency 12.344H under "Add Channels" and, although there are many channels that come up, none of them answer to the name "ESPN Classic Sport" or anything remotely like that name. Please explain!

It's supposed to be that this is a video feed to Italy who then use it for a Digital Satellite package (Tele+Digital I think). The same frequency was used for Canal+ several months ago for the same service in the French Language. My guess is that they use the Astra 2 satellite as a tempoary feed until they can feed a permanent circuit and both channels originate from London. It's rumoured that ESPN Classic Sports will launch with an English soundtrack in the near future.

As for the comment about Sky and foreign language channels, it's not really viable for Sky to chase after channels for their lineup unless they think it will bring them significant additional revenue (e.g. BBC1&2 in the Republic). Sky Digital is designed for serving the UK & Ireland and the only foreign programming is of Asian origin to serve the large ex-pat population. If you really want foreign channels like RTP, RTL etc. then simply get a FTA Digital reciever and point an 80cm dish to Hotbird or Astra 1. It's not terribly expensive nowadays.
