international drivers permit

not sure where to post so why not em own board!
anyway, im checking out getting an international driving permit and just wondering does any one know off hand any sites or info of rireland. plenty of info for people in uk, but not too much for here.

and if anyone may know....
if i have (and i do) a full irish drivers licence and go to england, do i need apply for test over there, or is mine valid or what?

If its a full licence, when you go over there, as an EU citizen they will take your licence. Afaik if you live there you will have to forfeit your irish licence and replace it with a UK one withoug taking a test. Same works for france, germany etc.

found out all that on the aa website and the drivers licencing site in the uk.
