Ordering hardware overseas..

I am planning on buying a GF4 from a US supplier and am wondering what the situation is with VAT, taxes, etc. Is there a possibility I will be hit with a bill by the postman or something, for VAT. I believe it is being couriered though, just to be sure.

Customs generally inspect courier stuff for vat too you know.

im pretty sure what with the terrible dollar exchange rate that it'd be cheaper somewhere like http://www.komplett.ie .. check it out anyway before ordering, at least you don't run the risk of vat then.
