mac serial modem cable ?

    I'm looking for a mac cable to plug into an external 9 ping serial modem.. I figure this is probaly a better place to ask than the wanted, seeing as who knows how many of yee look at the wanted !

    not sure where u'd get one. Apple hasn't made a mac with a serial port in about 3 or 4 years.

    Best bet is to look for someone upgrading their Mac.
    Could try some of the apple shops too.

    BTW, this is the same cable that would be used to attach a printer.

    I have a modem here, on my old 8500 with an attached
    serial cable, and it gets its power from the adb port. But it's in use :)

    there was a special hardware handshaking cable (cts/rts) that was

    Appletalk (Mini Din) at one end
    D Type (9 pin serial male) at the other end.

    but Apple haven't shipped a box with the appletalk connector in yonks.

    Peats have This and This (with no piccie).

    The first mentions V42 which is v42Bis I trust, namely cts/rts the other may be an xon/xoff cable.
