possible opportunity for bands!?!?

    Ash have announced details of a competition to find a band / artist to record a B-side and play with the band live. To coincide with the release of their forthcoming singles compilation Intergalactic Sonic 7’s which includes all the bands singles to date, Ash are looking for bands to cover any one of the singles on the album.
    The nineteen tracks that can be covered are:

    1.‘Burn Baby Burn , 2.‘Envy’, 3.‘GirlFrom Mars’, 4. ‘Shining Light’,5. ‘A Life Less Ordinary,’ 6. ‘Goldfinger’, 7. ‘Jesus Says’, 8. ‘Oh Yeah’ 9. ‘Jack Names The Planets’, 10. ‘Sometimes’
    11. ‘Kung fu’, 12.‘Candy’, 13. ‘Angel Interceptor’, 14. ‘Uncle Pat’, 15. ‘Wildsurf’, 16.‘Walking Barefoot’, 17.‘Petrol’, 18. ‘There’s A Star’, 19. ‘Numbskull’.

    Entrants need to record onto DAT / CDR or minidisc and forward to the address below, the deadline for entries is 16th August, the band will then pick their ten favourite versions on 22nd August with the winner announced on XFM in London on August 27th.

    XFM will then broadcast a live (four track) session from a secret venue on their breakfast show on August 30th where the lucky winners will get to play their version of their chosen track. An added bonus will also see the winning entrant have their cover version released as a B-side on a future Ash release.

    Entrants need to send their recordings to the following address by 16th August

    wow that'd be so cool....i wish i was in a band!!!

    Is this really the case? its just cause I couldn't see anything about it on the ash website? Where did ya hear this I imagine Phantom's source's are good.

    its an XFM thing as in the london station not phantoms message board neighbours so maybe if ya check out XFM's website...
