    2x VB Developers
    Job Description

    Work as a project team member to deliver customer projects, and contribute to the ongoing development of our system.

    Responsibilities

    Responsible for the delivery of quality code, in adherence to internal programming standards and procedures.

    Provide technical input to project specifications as required.

    Make a pro-active contribution to your team's projects.

    Experience and Skills Required

    Degree in Computer Science, IT or equivalent qualification.

    3+ years VB development experience on OO design projects for client-server or e-commerce applications.

    Innovative and committed team player.

    Candidates with solid experience in the insurance or banking industry will be preferred.

    Technologies

    Key: Visual Basic 6.0, SQL Server (or Oracle), Windows 2000, ASP.

    Advantageous: XML, Crystal Reports, OLAP, MTS/COM+, OO Tools.

    1x Technical Architect
    Job Description

    Work as a member of the Technology team to enhance and expand our system, and give technical support to customer projects.

    Responsibilities

    Proactively participate on technical and customer projects undertaken by the Technology service team.

    Provide technical input to project specifications

    Implement and enhance development standards and methodologies

    Experience and Skills Required

    Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

    Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp and evaluate new technologies, and become proficient in their use to solve business problems. Exposure to .NET would be advantageous.

    Visual Basic 5 or higher (essential) - class and interface definition and implementation. OO programming (Java, C++, etc) desirable.

    Technologies for implementation - MTS/COM+, n-tier application development and deployment. Enterprise application development - Web Server programming (see below), Middle tier object implementation (COM preferable, EJB considered).

    DCOM networking and network programming (essential). Other ORB work will be considered (e.g. CORBA).

    ASP or other web server based programming (JSP).

    Database access: ADO preferable, ODBC, DAO, RDS, DB-Library or vendor API.

    XML (essential), EDI, ebXML, and/or other data standards.

    Software design techniques, including object-oriented analysis and design techniques, and UML. Use of design patterns would be advantageous.

    Use-case modelling techniques - preferably Rational Rose.

    Methodologies desirable are RUP, XP, EVO, SSADM.
