Emm.....That new banner ad:

BLUE MOVIES MAde in Ireland

Is that a legit ad or just a little something to catch out attention?

jesus you should have seen last years Goldenspiders "vote for us" ad! huge flashing "FREE PORN" banner...

Nah, these are not Morondodo. They actually have their heads screwed on and are competent it would seem.
They are also fans of Boards.ie and wanted to give us some support. Fair play. They've just opened their new studio and are on a big drive for it (we're using them as a test case for our new in-house ad system... the old one had to leave us after the Eircom ad fiasco...told you we were annoyed).

The only ad I ever seem to see these days is the Boards.ie 'now ye're talkin'' animated one... I'm curious as to what these new ads look like

I'm browsing the boards from work using a PowerMac G4 Cube running Opera 5 on OS-X.

I never see any of these ads

.. although its always a good thing.... makes the pages load that bit quicker

Why not put an ad up for boards that just says "DONT click here" ... trust me ... everyone will click on it

Ads = Revenue = Boards.ie stays free and alive longer. I clicked on the ad out of curiosity and to support boards. Will there be different ads from different companies in the future ? I can't see anything wrong with it.

Ad policy isnt set in stone at the moment.

We've moved away from the adserver company we were using.
So we've total control over the ads now.

Clicking doesnt get us anything as we dont get paid more on clicking but its nice to show someone that we can bring traffic to their site.

We'll probably keep the ads for a while but no more flash ones if I can help it. Ick.

we're trying to limit them to about 20k so its not much more then some peoples sig images

We're going to see if we can get boards to be self sufficient from beer nights.
