    Hi there!

Sorry I upset you: even though I don't use to post here, I check these boards quite often: there is a thread "Upcoming gigs" in the Rock-Metal section and a "Gig/Events" board: I thought they were there right for this purpose.

If I misunderstood, my apologies. However, it's just a couple of posts: they don't do any harm and if you check the website you'll find quite a lot of useful information for bands and artists.

    What's the problem bud?

    Regards, A.

You know you're right, those are there for you to use.

So next time you start making new threads, advertising for your band, I'll just ban you without a word.
    How's that sound?
It's only a spammy poster: no harm banning them.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,975 ✭✭✭Oeneus

And by the way, your website is NOT an Instrument Resource Website! (I mean FFS! )

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 389 ✭✭Morello

OK then, I don't intend to bother anybody: please go ahead and delete all my unwelcome posts, my apologies for the inconvenience.

And btw I never said it is an Instrument Resource Website but only that includes some useful information and it does.

    One more thing:

"So next time you start making new threads, advertising for your band, I'll just ban you without a word.
    How's that sound?"

If this is the spirit of this board I do not mind to be banned

    Take it easy, A.

Here, do you feel cool coz you treat people like ****? Judging by the number of people who emailed me about the unfair treatment I received on this board (and in one case to invite me to post freely on their forum), you already managed to show everybody what a miserable person you are. Why do you make it worse?

OK, now you can ban me (so that you feel important)

    Moderator me arse

In case you think Morello is a lone voice here, I'd like to add mine in agreement. I've seldom seen such ignorance from so-called Moderators. This has been a disgraceful performance.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

Frankly, this is a message board for people to discuss things, and I'm here to make sure that they dont get swamped down with spam and advertisements.

Furthermore, there is a gigs/events board and this thread just so you can advertise for your gigs. There is also a bands/musicians board if your looking for band members, or looking to join a band.

What I think is disgracefull is when people have these boards to use, yet they feel like they have to spam and advertise on every board that is in some way relevant. Boards.ie is here for people to converse without being snowed under by spam. And whether you like it or not, you're breaking the rules by advertising.

If you feel that you, and the 'number of people who emailed you about unfair treatment' really do have a gripe, there's an Admin board there for you to make a complaint to the Administrators. Feel free to do so.

But I have banned NEITHER of you, so I fail to see what actions of mine are ignorant, or unfair. Despite the fact that you were both breaking the rules. And Despite the sticky thread there that is telling you NOT to do what you went and done.

I dont know if this post is going to get flamed/trolled, if it does I apologies (please note I have nothing to do with the band - I dont even play an instrument, except my own :) )

    Release from Revile.net
The Temple Bar Music Centre has been booked for Friday night, 25th April. Unfortunately we couldn't get an all ages gig, so it's going to be over 18's. The venue is quite expensive so any band who wants to play at the gig will have to chip in a bit. It's going to be €140 per band to play (5 bands max), but don't be put off over the seemingly large price tag as this money can be easily recouped if you can shift at least 25 tickets to fans, friends and family. Selling tickets also ensures that the place fills up and we have a crowd, regardless of who else shows up at the door on the night. That shouldn't be too much trouble for Dublin bands at least. Tickets will be quite cheap (we hope) because the objective is to get this place ****ing packed and make it one to remember. We're currently trying to put the most diverse bands together for the gig so if anyone is interested in playing e-mail your intentions to Andy from Revile and as it all comes together the line up will be chosen, more news soon.

    upcoming Bandicoot gigs
Burning Brides are NOT playing Pine Lodge in Myrtleville this coming Fri (14th) as previously announced. They were to reschedule for May but they are now touring with Audioslave around that time so the wait continues.

Jerry Dammers (of The Specials) mixes the night away up in The Blue Angel (Top Floor Of Cork Opera House) on Sat 22nd Feb.

Redneck Manifesto play a rescheduled show in the Half Moon Theatre on Sun 9th March. Its now an afternoon gig (3pm) and open to all ages. Support from Weevil.

The amazing Enon from the States are now confirmed for a free gig in Pine Lodge, Myrtleville on Sun 16th March. Its a bank holiday the next day (Paddys day) so keep this in mind (no work for the wicked). Enon is made up of an ex member of Brainiac and the good looking Japanese chick that used to play bass with The Lapse. Their recent album was released on Touch and Go Records (home to Shellac/Girls Against Boys etc). The Bloodthirsty Lovers (featuring ex Grifters) may also play on the night but this is not confirmed just yet.

Mikabomb (Super sexy punky girly trash rockers from Japan) plus The Warlords Of Pez (Zillionaire space rockers) play a special gig in the Half Moon Theatre on Thurs 27th March.

The Soledad Brothers from Detroit are set to return with their fab gritty indie electric blues. They play a freebie in Pine Lodge, Myrtleville on Sat 3rd May (bank holiday weekend) and you just never know who may turn up on the night as a special guest.

Justin Sullivan (of New Model Army) is nearly confirmed for a Cork show on Thurs 29th May. The Half Moon Theatre looks likely to be the venue for this acoustic setting.

The Acid Mothers Temple Soul Collective from Japan play the Lobby Bar on Sat 31st May. This event will feature live sets from Tsurubami, Pardons and Kawabata Makoto.

Jetplane Landing bring their indie guitar antics over from London and play the Lobby Bar on Sun 1st June. Rest also play on the night.

    More gigs to be announced.

this is the email i got from earache about the berserker gig

Yeah - apologies to all the Irish Berzerker fans, we know many of you maniacs were looking forward to seeing the first Berzerker show on Irish soil, but it HAS moved to Sheffield.I should stress, we at Earache don't fix up the shows, they have an agent that does that and i'm afraid the Dublin show was double booked - if anyone goes to Tivoli march 1, all you will see is the absolute ****e Felix da Housecat!!...I know Conor and many of the long standing Berzerker fans are gutted with the news..we're trying to see if the band cannot make another show in Ireland later in the tour.If you all bug the promotor about it, it might make it happen quicker..

    so get emailing
