Yo.. in the job we usually throw out all out left over bits and peices, monitors, simms, cards etc does anyone know of any charity or whatever that would be interested in taking them away? we usually get a skip and bung them out but we'd rather give them to a charity or 3rd world schools or something along those lines.
some of the stuff might be broken or in need of slight repair but we cant seperate the working from it so it would all have to go together:)

Try putting it in the buy sell and trade ...
Loads of peeps are looking for that kind of stuff
Most will pay but for the older stuff u could give it away and let them pay for p+p..
Seems the way to go i think other that throw it away..

Have to agree with Apprentice here. Take a look in the Buy and Sell any given week and you'll find people/companies/underpriviliged schools crying out for these kinds of things. Check it out and see who's looking for the stuff or put an ad in it. It's free.

Every now and then post in the For Sale board when you are giving away the stuff, i am sure some people there wouldn't mind repairing a small fault in a monitor since it is so much cheaper than buying new one.

right. are we talking bulk bombidol? are we talking really old crap?

the previous suggestions are nice and all that, but not realistic. the last thing u want is some of the people from this site (or any site) pawing all over your old bits and pieces at work. Lets face it, they will only take what suits them and leave the rest behind.

u could try http://www.electronic-recycling.ie , but if the stuff is too old, they will charge you for each unit or by weight. the problem is the monitors. i think its 15 euro per monitor. (most of the stuff is sent to UK then who knows?

if u wanted to offer it up to people in bulk, i would ask them to bid for it and say take it all away on a pallet, shrinkwrapped. then theres no leaving anything behind.

Tried passing old kit to the local schools and charities, but (apart from one school)have given up as they expect it to come with ongoing support and maintenance (you buy yourself more trouble than it's worth).

If you place a buy and sell ad, be prepared for lots of people who want to go through the kit item by item, while firmly believing they are doing you a favour.

If you want an easy life scrap/recycle it.

Thanks People, ill think we'll just keep fecking it out,
its stuff that has been floating around for ages like maybe a few printers (inkjet, Dot matrix) and Simms (4, 8mb) 14/15/17" monitors, some cases, the odd motherboard, etc, HDs are throw out but are destroyed first.

some of it could be working some of might might not:)
