Yes, and so's stuff like the League of Gentlemen.

Only at some gods-forsaken hour and with all the best bits edited out in case they offend. Tch. How could they not include Tubbs' nude dance?

    1. thundercats
    2. mask

YOU BADSIRS!!!! WHERE IS RED DWARF?!

and of course we all know <don't we?> that the real greatest show is the highly underrated We Are History.

Since Where's Father Ted has been answered, where's Fawlty Towers and The West Wing, I want to know.

Fawlty Towers because it was even better than Father Ted, in all fairness, which makes it something special.

The West Wing because it gives me a chance both to shout at the Democrats and thank God I'm not American, every week.

So where are they. The Simpsons used to be brilliant as well, though

Voices in my head! Voices in my head!

Or since they aren't being broadcast on TV 9(yet):
    1. Cheers
    2. The Simpsons
    3. Family Guy
    4. Southpark
    5. Red Dwarf
    6. Futurama
    7. Friends
    8. Monty Pythons Flying Circus
    9. The League of Gentlemen (Yay Tubbs nude dance!)
    10. Whatever show I end up hosting.

Or if you knew me in the eighties:
    1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
    2. Thomas the Tank Engine
    3. Bosco
    4. He-Man
    5. Thunder Cats
    6. She-Ra (Anyone remember that? It was a weird He-Man spin-off)
    7. Dungeons and Dragons
    8. Mask
    9. Fat Albert
    10. Pob

I have a 3 HOUR tape full of Super Mario Bros, I do! Yay, me!

And Monty Python definetely doesn't deserve top spot. Like has been said, it was nowhere near consistently funny. It shaped British comedy, it had some of the funniest moments in TV history in it, and, well, I grew up with it *sniff*, but when all's said and done there's a definite reason John Cleese abandoned ship towards the end.

Fawlty Towers, on the other hand, was, is, and always shall be, fantastic.

Save for the absence of Fawlty Towers and the Day Today, Green Hand Guy's list is great. I'm tempted to, er, 'diss' Friends, I am, but when I think about it, how many times have I seen each episode, and yet they can still make me laugh... same would go for the Simpsons, if it weren't for the horror of every new episode for the past three or so years.

Oh, and if anything, She-Ra was better than He-Man. And the cross-over movie, well, that was genius.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,028 ✭✭✭oq4v3ht0u76kf2

Jesus! How could I forget Fawlty Towers? Dermo bought me every episode of that ever made for christmas, all twelve of them... they are still unbelievably brilliant though!

And, be you Laura whose bus stop I went to to make sure you were okay?

  • Registered Users Posts: 588 ✭✭✭littlehedgehog

were there not 13? or maybe I'm losing my mind................again...............................

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 760 ✭✭✭TheAlmightyArse

6 episdoes per series is the standard BBC fare, so unless they did a Christmas special or something... in which case, if they did, I'm positively browning up my dressing gown at the thought of unseen Fawlty Towers. Please say it's true!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,028 ✭✭✭oq4v3ht0u76kf2

Well, the DVD box makes a big song and dance about every episode ever made... and the third disc full of cool **** documents why only twelve episodes were made.
