I mostly listen for the music and more or less ignore the lyrics alotta the time to be honest, but slipknot have some good lyrics, and sometimes theres a meaning in there aswell

Yeah that's a cool song, it's called "diluted", off their last album. Altho the last few lines make me look at corey funny....

Personally I more often listen to the music than the Lyrics, but I also think that the vocals are definetly part of the music, the sound of a singer's voice can greatly effect the music.

I agree with AngelWhore, it adds feeling and aggression into a song whatever it may be. I which is why I personally like Philip Anselmo's lyrics.

Correct and right, for instance, the new JJ72 song just came on MTV2 and while the music was ok, that guys voice just made me want to stick my fists in my ears and rip out my ear drums!

yeh words are pretty important eminem - not good i think but great lyrics at times and very intelligent man. and voice - linkin parks vocalist is excellent and slipknots vocalist can be class wen he wants (my plauge, wait and bleed). i think the lyrics to civil war by GNR are great, really makes you think. RATM have good lyrics and other bands i cant think off. neil youngs rockin in the free world has great lyrics, especially

"they'll be one more kid, never ever go to school, never get to fall in love, never get to be cool"

great, and paranoid is funny as hell.

Ph3n0m, that Suicidal Tendencies song sounds like one the Insane Clown Posse did called 'another love song'. You should check out the lyrics to that too, they're quite funny. You know what, that guy who posted the original message in the "I'm a misogynist" thread in Personal Issues, I think he should take to listening to some of that stuff. Might give the silly sod some perpective

you can feel the pain in this song...from the lyrics...even just reading the lyrics would upset anyone...esp if you've been in such a situation...and then when ya hear the song and the sadness and the anger....its just amazing that a song can make you feel such strong emotions...

Me too, Trent is my favourite lyricist. My fave NIN song at the mo is 'Hurt'. I love the piano bit at the start
