How do I make rows and columns anchored to the page so that inputted text(of whatever size) does not affect their position/formatting/layout?
ie excess text slips 'under' the box to the right/left?

    Highlight your table.

    From pulldowns, go Table-Cell Height & Width-Row(tab).
Change Height of Row from Auto/At Least to Exactly.
    From Column(tab) set your width.

This is for Word 97 but have had a look at Word XP and not much difference.
