    IE5.5

Sounds more like a problem with your particular IE install.

I've been through the whole repair/restore routine without success. I'm looking into another angle at the moment, it seems I've got spyware that is attemting to hi-jack the browser, so I'm off to do some on-line research right now.

    IE6 (win2k) - both appear fine
