No satellite signal being received

Tonight when I switced on my TV I got a "No satellite signal being received" message on screen. When I go to the Signal Test screen, signal strength was about 50% and varying up and down, signal quality 0%, No Lock. A little while later signal strength is about 60%, variable, and signal quality is about 40% but dropping frequently, lock is OK, and picture is breaking up. I've tried resetting the box and even tried changing boxes but to no avail. Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Sounds like tuner has failed or dish has become mis aligned

If its intermittent, its probably birds sitting on the LNB.
If its permanent, its probably dish misallignment or a faulty tuner.

Sounds like the satellite transformer's bust.

    Thanks.

It does appear to have had something to do with the dish being mis-aligned. I moved the dish about this evening and now have a signal strength about 80% and quality about 70%. I'm still getting the picture freezing and jumping, but this seems only to happen when I'm viewing RTE, TV3 or TG4. It seems to be OK on the other channels.
