    I need some people to recomend some 80's onwards metal bands like metallica pantera etc. I'm trying to play alot of old metal because I think it's way better that all nu stuff. Any time i try to make a metallica sounding riff It comes out all numetaly n'stuff.

    anyone got any good bands I can learn from?

    Learn from the masters....

    AC/DC!

    Generally any of their albums would suffice but I would recommend "Let Their Be Rock" and "Razors Edge"

    Slayer, Megadeth, Testament, Sepultura (Beneath The Remains), Anthrax, Exodus, Nuclear Assault, The Haunted...

    All thrash metal bands, check em out.

    You can check out Iced Earth and In Flames too who are fairly good I must say...

    Um... here's a little thought - check out all the bands that inspired the bands that you love. They're generally quite great or at least give you some good ideas. Personally though, I don't know the bands that inspired Metallica etc. Look it up

    For Metallica: Diamond Head, The Scorpions, Mercyful Fate...

    For Pantera: Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Kiss, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Slayer...
