    Headline

ODTR Press Release 05/09/2002 A net 6% increase in the number of CPS lines

Extracts below show achievements that they are 'proud of' god bless their unambitious little souls and no widespread use of Broadband or ofFlat Rate in sight either....they refer to UTV's new 'fixed subscription' service instead. Eshat don't even get a mention coz their IOL bundle is such crud really.

    Selectively
Additional Extracts from the ODTR’s Quarterly Report:

    · Fixed line revenue has increased by approximately 4% since last quarter which is mainly attributable to an increase in the incumbent’s revenue. The increase in this quarter reflects a one-off revenue in non-core communications activity.

    · According to Nielsen net ratings, 1/3 of the population have home access to the internet. While residential usage has remained stable, we note the new fixed subscription based offering from UTV which we hope will stimulate increased internet usage.

    · 1,200 DSL Connections have been provided to-date.

A Fixed Subscription product, thats what it is. Flat Rate it ain't. Thanks for the Terminology lads.

And finally for the Country Folks, note the careful use of language and the lack of figures showing a catastropic drop in analogue MMDS subscribers in the past 2 quarters.
Approximately 7% of cable/MMDS subscribers have upgraded to digital an increase of 2% since last quarter.

That should provide them with an interesting return on investment - not to mention paying for all that bear and muppet and mouse advertising.

And I suppose that includes E-Slow's Limerick venture.

And if you could strip from that how many are to Eircoin and RTE premisis, employees, cousins, grannies not to mind the ones uses for all that 3 years of "testing" .......... the post on another thread saying that EirCrummy had provisioned seven and a half houses in Dublin with ADSL probably isn't that far of the mark.

I wonder if any search engines could handle a request like "countries with less than 1201 ADSL connections" - be interesting to see the company we are keeping in the digital stakes
