ADSL in Cork ?

    Several months ago I called Eircom and asked to be put on a list for ADSL, as soon as they were able to offer the service in Cork. Needless to say I have heard nothing!

    Anyone have any idea if they are close, or if any other vendors might be able to offer the service?

    churchfield was ment to come online end of august, dunno what hold up is, while you wait get flat rate internet from www.u.tv

    Well, ESAT have ADSL for €90pm and I live within 2.5km from the exchange, so I faxed them an order yesterday. 19 days lead time to go before I get to try it, but I'm looking forward to it big time.

    Next challenge for me will be to build my in-house network. One desk and one laptop. I want to go wireless, but it seems complex. I may need to replace the Ericsson HM220 ADSL modem with something that easily allows more than one device.

    ADSL in Cork? Esat were to have 3-4 exchanges up by October Id heard (Churchfield being one of them). And then... nothing.

    Setting up a wireless network at home is easy. Ive set up one with my main PC (WinXP) Dad's laptop (WinXP) and my ibook (MacOSX).

    PC Wireless adaptor: €85
    Both laptops came built in with cards so dont know about costs
