Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

NTL showed up today ........ amazing that.

Regrettably, it is difficult to point them to their past mistakes, as discussed on boards , because the forum search Barfs at words of less than 4 characters.

It may be an idea to:

    1. Put an exception in the code for COMMON TLA's used on boards such as

    NTL
    CIE
    RTE

    others by admin consensus

    or else

    2. SQL statement thru the database renaming NTL as NTLC where cable is being discussed and NTLTV where TV is being discussed, they are separate products

    IE
    if

    a post contains
NTL and (Television or TV or SKY or Sports or Analogue or MMDS)

    replace NTL with NTLTV

(loop that to get rid of the telly ones)

    then if

    post contains
    NTL
    replace NTL with NTLC

and we can search past posts, people would then get the hint pretty fast ...esp if there were a sticky

    Use a "*".

    eg: NTL*

For your penance you might create a thread in NEWBIE FAQ about that. Thanks :)
