Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    [biased] I would recommend a Manhattan Skyline 3000 [/biased]

Seriously, that seems to be a good receiver and is very well priced.

Whats the story with the epg/channels on an FTA digital receiver? Do they automatically appear when you align your dish, or is it like the add channels feature on the digibox? I'm interested in looking into a FTA receiver for some of the other satellites.

The channels are pre loaded in most receivers and you can do a search and scan to add new channels as they appear.

Thanks Tony, do you recommend anything in particular starting off?

Well the humax f1 fox is pretty good for free to air channels but for pay channels its hard to beat the digenius. I am very biased though as I sell both of these.

I've an 80cm not being used since I got SKY digital. Would this be adequit to pick up most of the main satellites (Astra 1 & hotbird series) with a universal LNB?

Yes no problem, depending on your dish type you may also be able to add a second lnb to get astra 1 and hotbird from the same dish using a diseq switch

What's wrong with Manhattan? I went through some major deliberating deciding on which box to get, a choice of either Digenius or Manhattan... (ask chernobyl!)

I finally went for the twin CI Skyline3000 as it supported NTSC and had LNB Loopthrough... Now you tell me it's a heap of ****e! :(

Just thought u knew something that I didn't know about them...

There's too many different makes of digital receivers!!

So far (have it 2 weeks), it's going grand and am still sussing the whole thing. Don't get enough time!

I would have bought the Digenius coz of its unbeatable price but I wanted LNB loopthrough to connect my DVB card in my pooter (though EON hasn't worked since)

It may be that EON needs to control the lnb vontage to switch polarity. Try swithching channels on the manhattan to see if it makes a difference. A smart priority switch is good for these situations if you are unable to fit a twin lnb.

    Good luck
