Just rang o2 to see what the story was with the 7210. She said that "Testing" had sent the phone back requesting a software update on 21st August. If it comes back with the "requested features" it will be available very shortly.

Will that be days, weeks or months when it comes back, I asked. It could be a day or it could be a month was the reply .. ffs

Of course, no info on pricing.

7210 haven't been released to direct suppliers yet either, so it won't be in the next few days from a Operator here, more likely a couple of weeks.

Latest news email from mphone.co.uk stated an expected October ship date for SIM Free units. Their (own determined) guide price SIM Free is around STG £410.08 (inc. vat). Another direct supplier expansys.com have no definate shipdate or guide price.

Nokia's guide was Q3 2002, so that usually translates to the following quarter for availability, so some time in Q4 (starting October).

Try talking to the Carphone Warehouse, they seem to get new models in before the operator's own stores. They had the T68i available here before you could get it from either operator's store. I got it as a Voda upgrade, it took about 3 weeks for an upgrade pack to come in (they had new contract phones available though), when it did arrive it was still a few weeks before the T68i appeared from Vodafone directly.

    HTH,
    Brian G.
