    I've just bought one, haven't got it yet but Pioneer sent me an e-mail about what you're saying.
    Should I be worried?
    I'm keeping my receipt in a safe place, that's for sure.

    Well if your drive is still ok, you won't need to bring back the drive, just upgrade the firmware. Very simple.
