The Chamber Of Commerce of Ireland are sick of our money grubbing, incompetent and expensive Telecoms Industy and want Flat Rate now according to this article
Here. The full survey is linked below here and is IMO the best examination so far of how the E-Tub of Europe ®™™©® is making life so easy and fulfilling for itself.

Unlike those useless toerags the MRBI who delivered that PR Bunny mush to the ODTR and seemingly got PAID taxpayers money for it, the Chambers of Commerce asked some intelligent questions and got the following answers:
"A total of 61pc of companies surveyed said that they would use the internet more if an always on flat rate service was available," said Annrai O'Toole, chairman of the Digital Business Council.
    more
"The Telecoms Regulator needs to adopt a tougher stance and the new Minister must ensure that the regulator has the power to enforce. There is a concern that the government has taken its eye off the ball on this issue and that nobody is driving this agenda forward."

Somebody is 'driving it forward' Annraí, if the Chambers of Commerce could spare a room in their office in Merrion Square for IoffL then it'd get into fourth gear fairly pronto, cough ahem!!

This is great work people. You assumed that your members weren't gobsh1tes unlike the MRBI who assumed everybody was as thick as themselves. The Chambers of Commerce Survey was carried out by MORI not the MRBI.

FcUK me there isn't a a PDF at the End and all. ODTR please note how its done and ask that shower in the MRBI for a credit note while yeer at it.

Today's indo will have a similar article too. The regular press coverage is definitely encouraging.
THE Chambers of Commerce of Ireland (CCI) yesterday called for the Government to be "more aggressive stimulating competition" and to empower the regulator to free up the telecoms market.
"This is not a technology issue but a fundamental competitiveness issue for businesses and Ireland Inc," he continued.

The report highlighted the lack of a flat fee internet service as a deterrent to companies using cost-saving e-business solutions

CCI says poor infrastructure hurts SMEs

The Chambers of Commerce of Ireland (CCI) has said that the Irish telecoms market is failing to meet the Internet needs of SMEs.

CCI said on Tuesday that a survey carried out by its Business Digital Council had shown that the cost and lack of availability of telecommunications infrastructure is holding back widespread use of Internet technology by small and medium-sized businesses, and is stopping such technology from being properly exploited.

In particular, the survey found that the lack of flat-rate Internet access was a key deterrent to SMEs making full use of e-business solutions. Just over 60 percent of 600 companies surveyed said that they would use the Internet more if an always-on, flat-rate service was available.

"The telecommunications market is not meeting the growing demands of business. Companies in Ireland have to settle for ISDN as the best available service and, therefore, are not realising the potential of the Internet, unlike their European and American counterparts," said Annrai O'Toole, chairman of CCI's Digital Business Council.

O'Toole said it was time for the Telecoms Regulator to adopt a "tougher stance" in bringing about competition and for the Minister for Communications to ensure that the Regulator has the proper powers to enforce its measures. Nearly half of respondents to the CCI survey said they felt that there was not adequate competition in the telecoms market.
