Yet another deadline from the UUP is approaching. So what do you think is going to happen this time?
Will the Shinners be pushed/pulled/encouraged/sweetened to go that bit further to satisfy the UUP demands?
Will the UUP pull the plug and the IRA go back to the 'struggle'?
The NI executive will be postponed and we all have to do a merry dance again?
Is this just positioning on behalf of the UUP so they don't lose more votes to the DUP in next years assembly elections?
Or, we'll reach the January deadline, the UUP will withdraw from the Assembly, but the NI Secretary will call for new elections instead of postponing the executive.

    What do you think?

This time I reckon the UUP will withdraw. The NI secretary will call for new elections to the Assembly. Sinn Fein and the DUP will make gains and Geoffry "Strutting Tit" Donaldson will become the new leader of the UUP.

The IRA will not go back to the "struggle" as they are already in a embarrassing position because of the Colombian incident which has lost them some of their "friends" in the US.

The Loyalist Terrorists will be too busy blowing each other away because of the drug turf war that will ensue because "Mad-dog" has been expelled from the UDA.

And we will be trying to join Northern Ireland because McCreevy lost the whole budget on the 2.30 at Epson :) (sorry couldn't resist the last one).

    Gandalf.

Yes indeed. It does sound like as if they're gearing up for an election (probably in February/March timeframe).

The UUP to campaign an anti-Sinn Fein IRA platform and hope not to lose too many seats and Davy Trimble to resign. And Jeff 'Beady Eye' Donaldson to take over.

The DUP to gain from the UUP without having to work hard. Will campaign on the usual '...we want no taigs running our country...'.

And Sinn Fein/IRA to gain the most to become the biggest nationalist party in Norn Iron.

And as for the SDLP? Who knows? They'll have to work pretty hard to retain what they have. They'll be the big losers in this election. The only thing that will save them is the IRA going backwards.

PS. I would be surprised to see any Politician losing any money on the GeeGees - haven't seen one yet ;-)
